Introducing Kate Gould

Introducing Kate Gould who joined the Client Services Team in June. Prior to Imagine Accounting Katie worked as an administrative assistant and executive in a variety of different industries. As part of our Client Newsletter we interviewed Katie and found out more about her working style and interests outside of work.

What are your main responsibilities at Imagine Accounting?

Managing reception, preparing tax returns, managing the processing of incoming and outgoing mail.

What attracted you to Imagine Accounting?

The office and staff seemed to have a very professional yet warm and friendly atmosphere. I felt like it would be a very motivating environment to work in.

You joined Imagine Accounting during COVID-19. How was this?

It was slightly surreal at first going back into an office after several months off work. I was also worried that working virtually with people I had never met before may bring with it a certain level of awkwardness, however despite this my new colleagues made me feel very welcome and a part of the team almost immediately.

Describe your working style

I’d say I enjoy a nice balance of collaborative teamwork as well as working independently on a particular task that I’ve been given the sole responsibility for.

You are currently studying a Bachelor of Business Administration with a Bachelor of Arts – Psychology – how do you balance study and work?

I find setting strict time periods during the day dedicated to working and studying helps keep me on track. This also allows for down time to be enjoyed guilt free and to avoid burn out. Setting reasonable, tangible goals to achieve set for each study or work period really helps keep me efficient and motivated.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

With the uncertainty of the current times I’m hesitant to make any concrete goals, however I would like to have graduated from university and made reasonable progression in my career.

What are your interests outside of work?

I enjoy hiking, sailing, skiing and portraiture sketching.

Top 3 things on your bucket list?

  1. Graduating from university
  2. Hiking in the Faroe Islands
  3. Skiing in Japan
