Cameron Rosen is a long‐term client of Imagine Accounting. Along with his wife Daphna Tal he recently started a business – Greenline Australia. We spoke to Cameron to find out what makes his business unique and the type of challenges he faces as a small business owner.
What does Greenline Australia do?
Greenline Australia manufacture in Sydney, a range of green and food safe certified cleaning products under the brand name Greenline Cleaning Products. Our products are non‐toxic and biodegradable.
What inspired you to start Greenline Australia?
My wife and I are the owners of Greenline Australia and we started this business with inert drive and passion. With a focus on health & well‐being and the environment, we aim to continue to make a positive footprint.
What is unique about your business?
Firstly, our motive to create product definition and tangibility, meeting exemplary globally recognised standards and regulations. We have verified our product claims that our product is safe and non‐toxic. We are also a company that acts responsibly, socially, and sustainably.
Secondly, these accolades provide Greenline Australia and Greenline Cleaning Products with a clear separation from the traditional chemical manufacturer and products in the marketplace.
Has COVID‐19 impacted your business?
Yes, but differently because in March 2020, we were a start‐up. COVID‐19 restrictions affected us to reach potential customers. However, the cleaning industry has had a boost that we are not complaining about and this has opened up opportunities for us.
In the next 12 months what do you see as the major challenges facing a small business?
Similar to any start‐up, cash flow is always a division of time vs sales, the time taken to make sales, to invoice, and the time taken to receive payment.
If you had one piece of advice to a new business owner, what would it be?
Drive success by the vision of your goals and the passion for manifesting them into reality.
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
Over the next five years, our business aims to embed Greenline Cleaning Products into the Australian and New Zealand commercial markets, including exporting into the Asia Pacific region. We are creating a movement to be #toxicfreetogether, and this period sees us develop relationships with responsible businesses, collaborating as sustainable suppliers and enabling sustainable procurement of non‐toxic products.
